Peking to Paris 2016 in a 1966 VW Karmann Ghia Patrick & Christine Sommer Car 65

Many of you have followed us on the 2015 "Road to Mandalay" and on the 2012 “London to Cape Town” rallies. On June 12 we will start to drive 14 000 km on the "Peking to Paris" rally. The race will take us through Mongolia & Siberia driving through 11 countries until we reach Place Vendôme in Paris on July 17. We will try to post a short comment on our blog on most days with the exception of Mongolia where we will have no internet access.

Day 19 Rest day Mae Sot,Thai / Burmese border

Today was a rest day in Mae Sot so that we could get ready to cross the border into Burma tomorrow. We spent the day looking after the car. This will be the first rally ever to cross this border.

We will only be able to post new pages in in a few days as we expect not to have any internet for the next three days.
