The official start was at the Great Wall, with the huge American built "La France" vintage cars leaving first.
The north of China is thinly populated, sometimes crowds would gather and look at all the old cars they have never seen.
On our way to Datong we passed the amazing Hanging Monastery built in 491 which includes Buddhism, Taoism and Confucianism.
We are heading for the Mongolian border and rough roads & tracks with timed special sections will only start when we leave China.
