Peking to Paris 2016 in a 1966 VW Karmann Ghia Patrick & Christine Sommer Car 65

Many of you have followed us on the 2015 "Road to Mandalay" and on the 2012 “London to Cape Town” rallies. On June 12 we will start to drive 14 000 km on the "Peking to Paris" rally. The race will take us through Mongolia & Siberia driving through 11 countries until we reach Place Vendôme in Paris on July 17. We will try to post a short comment on our blog on most days with the exception of Mongolia where we will have no internet access.

Day 25 Minsk to Brest

We drove 540 km from Minsk to Brest with four time sections on sandy gravel.

The picture below is from one of the test sections.

The people in Belarus have been very welcoming, a big crowd greeted us on our arrival in Brest.

Today we did our first small repair on the car replacing a gasket on the exhaust pipe.

Tomorrow we enter Poland and the European Union.
