The day started with some mildly testing navigation. This was followed by the day's regularity test across the main ridge of the Kra Isthmus, the narrowest part of the Malay Peninsula. This test was on a very steep hilly road, keeping the average speed turned into quite a challenge. After the test many potholes took us to Chumphon a southern frontier town housing Thai armies of centuries gone by. We are moving into the part of Thailand where Budhism is the majority religion, with small shrines in front of every house.
Many of you have followed us on the 2015 "Road to Mandalay" and on the 2012 “London to Cape Town” rallies. On June 12 we will start to drive 14 000 km on the "Peking to Paris" rally. The race will take us through Mongolia & Siberia driving through 11 countries until we reach Place Vendôme in Paris on July 17. We will try to post a short comment on our blog on most days with the exception of Mongolia where we will have no internet access.
