Today was a proper rest day in Khao Lak as we didn't have to work on the car. Long walk on a white sandy beach backed by forested hills. This area was one of the hardest hit locations by the Tsunami 10 years ago. Christine befriended a baby elephant and is sad that it does not fit into the Karmann Ghia. Tomorrow we're off again on the road going North up the West coast.
Many of you have followed us on the 2015 "Road to Mandalay" and on the 2012 “London to Cape Town” rallies. On June 12 we will start to drive 14 000 km on the "Peking to Paris" rally. The race will take us through Mongolia & Siberia driving through 11 countries until we reach Place Vendôme in Paris on July 17. We will try to post a short comment on our blog on most days with the exception of Mongolia where we will have no internet access.
