The second test was called the "stairway to heaven"; a special speed test on gravel. We are happy with our results.
Many of you have followed us on the 2015 "Road to Mandalay" and on the 2012 “London to Cape Town” rallies. On June 12 we will start to drive 14 000 km on the "Peking to Paris" rally. The race will take us through Mongolia & Siberia driving through 11 countries until we reach Place Vendôme in Paris on July 17. We will try to post a short comment on our blog on most days with the exception of Mongolia where we will have no internet access.

Day 14 Phetchabun to Phrae
After passing the King's summer palace, the day started with a regularity test up the mountain to Phu Hin Rongkla. The climb at slow speed in the test was so steep that today was the first day when our engine got very hot. A cool breeze on top of the mountain and a cautious descent took care of the cooling off. This teak country, the trucks on the road are loaded with hardwood and sugar cane. Lunch was on a floating village with view on a herd of water buffalos.
