25 Bagan to Yangon, last leg of the rally
The last leg of the rally consisted of driving 600 km from Bagan to Yangon. After a very hot drive, a police escort took us through the dense Yangon traffic to our hotel. This morning we delivered the Karmann Ghia to the warehouse for shipment to Europe. In June 2016 we will drive 15 000 km with the Karmann Ghia on the Peking to Paris rally.
For those of you who have enjoyed our blog and had not been on our initial mailing list, you are welcome to leave a message on this blog with your details. We can then include you on our mailing list for Peking to Paris.
We have been pleasantly surprised by how many followers our small blog has attracted.
We would like to thank those who so generously donated to the Fondation Isee, the Belgian charity we have supported on this rally.
The aim of the charity is to support visually deficient people in helping them become more independent and autonomous members of society. Fondation Isee is advising families on how to deal with visually deficient children and is very active in training guide dogs. The waiting time in Belgium for a guide dog is currently two years.
